NFL writer: ?Texas A&M?s Johnny Manziel is the quarterback of the future?

In just 10 games as a college quarterback Johnny Manziel has been able to break age old SEC records, take down the No. 1 team in the nation and become a conversation piece for the Heisman Trophy.

It is believed that Manziel is the future of Texas A&M football but anything beyond that has been reserved.

That is until NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks wrote recently that Manziel is the quarterback of the future not just in college football but in the pro game too.

?Traditional NFL enthusiasts might cringe at the notion of a spread-option quarterback taking over the league, but that development seems inevitable when you look at the college football being played on Saturdays,? Brooks writes. ?I watched?Texas A&M?s surprising win over Alabama, and there isn?t a better point guard in college football than Manziel.?

Brooks writes how the ?magical? Manziel took down Alabama completing 24 of 31 passes without the impressive performance even being his best of the season.

He believes that Manziel?possesses three traits that make him a highly anticipated recruit for NFL scouts this early in his career. Accuracy, mobility and a clutch factor are the factors Brooks believe Manziel can bring to the next level.

?Manziel is just a red-shirt freshman, but his game has already caught the attention of scouts looking for potential playmakers down the road,? Brooks said. ?Manziel lacks the prototypical size that scouts covet in top prospects, but the fact that he has so many winning characteristics will undoubtedly make him one of the prospects to watch over the next few years.?
