Fast forward a week, and he all settled in here at home! We actually picked him up last weekend. He isn't fussy at all, and just the sweetest baby. His crooked little smile has just stolen my heart. He is just under 2 months old, and we are calling him D-Man. Best thing...he slept through the last 2 nights!!! I figured it would be months before that happened!!
My only issue is that we decided to take more placements as straight foster only, not to adopt since we already have 5 kids. Now that we have him though...I don't know how I will ever say no if they ask us about adoption! There is a definite chance it will be going that way if family doesn't step forward. How does everyone here do it? If he goes to family I will be thrilled, but the idea of saying no just to have him go to a new adoptive family is already breaking my heart.
I know I need to love him, and not worry about me. That's what I'm doing. But how do yall let them go to a new, unknown family after loving them for months?
