The DIY Adjustable-Height Workspace

The DIY Adjustable-Height WorkspaceMoving around regularly, rather than sitting or standing in one spot all day, is pretty important for your health. Today's featured workspace is a simple DIY solution for working in different positions: The long table adjusts to three different heights: standing desk, sitting desk, and coffee table.

Showcased on the Simplified Building Concepts blog, the sit-stand desk was created using Kee Klamp structural pipe fittings and pipe couplings that allow same-sized pipes to be joined together. The anonymous DIYer pairs the standing desk with a large TV, but this desk might be ideal with a laptop or a monitor that can easily be height-adjusted. It's not the auto-lifting computer-in-a-desk we saw recently, but this DIY desk is well within reach for more people.

If you have a workspace of your own to show off, post them to #workspaceshowcase. Make sure any photos you include are at least 640x360. Keeping them to 16:9 helps, too! Include a little text about the stuff you used, how you came up with the design, and any other relevant details. If your clever organization and good design sense catches our eye, you might be the next featured workspace.
